Special conditions

I. Membership Eligibility

1. Members must be 18 years or older. Youth under 18 may participate in specific youth programming with parental consent.

2. Members must demonstrate alignment with MSC’s mission, particularly in promoting music, creativity, community, and cultural preservation.

3. Membership is open to residents of Memphis, with a focus on uplifting artists from underserved communities and those contributing to the cultural legacy of Soulsville.

II. Membership Benefits

Members may have access to:

• Recording studios and practice rooms (at a reduced rate)

• Educational workshops and skill-building sessions

• Public performance opportunities and curated events

• Networking with other creatives and industry professionals

• Artist development and mentorship programs

• Event and meeting space rentals at discounted rates

III. Membership Expectations

Members are expected to:

1. Treat all Collaboratory staff, fellow members, and guests with respect.

2. Respect and preserve the condition of all facilities and equipment.

3. Actively contribute to the community’s creative culture and collaborate in good faith.

4. Uphold the values of inclusivity, cultural integrity, and community responsibility.

5. Follow all policies regarding use of space, scheduling, and noise levels.

IV. Code of Conduct

Memphis Slim Collaboratory is committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment. The following are grounds for suspension or termination of membership:

• Discrimination, harassment, or abusive behavior

• Unauthorized use of facilities, equipment, or resources

• Theft, vandalism, or violation of safety protocols

• Consistent failure to show up for booked sessions without notice

• Misrepresentation of affiliation with Memphis Slim Collaboratory

V. Fees and Payment

1. Membership fees are due monthly or annually, depending on plan selection.

2. Failure to pay dues within 30 days of the due date may result in suspension.

3. Members will be notified of any fee changes with at least 30 days’ notice.

VI. Booking and Access

1. Use of the studio or event space must be scheduled in advance.

2. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

3. Access to facilities outside regular operating hours requires prior approval.

VII. Intellectual Property

Artists retain all rights to their original works created at Memphis Slim Collaboratory. However, Memphis Slim Collaboratory reserves the right to document and share highlights from sessions, performances, and events for promotional purposes, with the artist's permission when featuring specific works.

VIII. Termination of Membership

1. Members may cancel at any time with 30 days' written notice.

2. Memphis Slim Collaboratory reserves the right to terminate membership for violations of these terms.

3. Appeals may be submitted in writing to Memphis Slim Collaboratory management.

IX. Amendments

These terms are subject to change. Members will be notified of updates via email and/or posted notice on-site and online.
